Dermal Filler Overview
Regain your happy, lifted and youthful look with dermal fillers
Losing volume in your face causes it to droop, making you look older or more tired.
Dermal fillers can add volume instantly and stimulate your own tissue to increase in volume. Fillers can correct undesired lines and folds, as well as add volume to certain areas of the face. This creates an effect called the “liquid facelift”, in which your face looks fuller, firmer, and glowy.
What are Dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are products that can be injected just below the surface of the skin and directly into the tissue to lift, fill in lines, wrinkles, folds, and correct scars and/or add volume.
What areas can be injected with fillers?

Smile line: between the nose and mouth
Smoker lines: fine lines around upper and lower lips
Frown lines: creases between the eyebrows
Acne scars: depressions in the skin at old acne sites
Lip augmentation: add volume and symmetry
Cheek augmentation: lift and contour sagging cheeks
Marionette lines: the slant of the corner of the lips
Hollowed temples: lack of volume or concavity over temples
Nose reshaping: dorsal bumps, depressions
Hands: reduce the appearance of bulging veins, wrinkles
Earlobes: firm sagging, damaged earlobes

How do Dermal fillers add volume?
Based on the way volume is added to the tissue, we can categorize dermal fillers into three different classes:
Volume-adding products:
those that add volume to the skin instantly. The leading products with this feature are HAs (hyaluronic acid-base) dermal fillers such as the Restylane family and the Juvederm family.
Collagen-stimulating products:
those that produce volume in the skin by stimulating your own skin to produce collagen and tissue over time. Sculptra is the most popular FDA-approved product for this purpose.
Volume-adding and collagen-stimulating products:
those that add instant volume and stimulate collagen formation, such as Radiesse and Artefill.
How do Hyaluronic Acids like Restylane and Juvederm differ from Botox Cosmetic and Dysport?
Botox or Dysport (botulinum toxins) and Restylane and Juvederm (HAs, gel-type dermal fillers) are used to correct wrinkles in different ways. Botox® or Dysport both relax the muscles that create frown lines between your eyebrows and crow’s feet. In contrast, Restylane and Juvederm products are natural, cosmetic fillers injected into the skin, adding volume to smooth wrinkles, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
What is the difference between Restylane, Juvederm and Beletero?
They are very similar products, such that they are all Hyaluronic acids and FDA-approved for adding volume through facial injections. We provide specials for all products, so you may benefit from any selection.
What is right for me? A facelift or Fillers?
Not everyone needs the same correction and treatment to regain their younger look. Age-related facial changes due to skin volume loss can be restored by filler for a fuller, natural, and youthful appearance. If the changes are due to excess loose skin, you may benefit from a combination of a mini facelift and fillers. A face-lift without volume correction gives a stretched skin look, which is not attractive.
