What is the right treatment for me?
Dr. Shafa needs to consider a number of factors in choosing your individualized treatment regimen. These factors include: the underlying cause of acne, patient skin characteristics, severity and type of lesions, duration and cost of the treatments.
Acne scarring can be treated after disease activity has been low or absent for several months. There are a number of techniques for treating this difficult problem. If you are interested, your treatment options will be discussed in detail when you meet Dr. Shafa.
You may receive topical or oral medication to control oil production of the skin, infection, and/or hormonal balance.
For certain types of acne, you may benefit from a series of acne extractions and deep cleaning of the skin. Extractions will be performed free of pain and additional topical treatments, such as acid peels, may be added to the deep facial to improve the final result.
