What is broken capillaries?

Broken capillaries occur when the capillary cell walls become weekend and break and it appears as fine wavy red lines. On facial skin it is common around the nose, cheeks and chin. Your skin become more prone to broken capillaries as it ages.

What are the treatment options?

Destroying the vessel via radiosurgery or via electrodessication, vascular laser , Fotofatial, or no treatment at all. Topical agent are not effective.

How Is Electrodessication Different From Lasers?

Typically a large laser wand emits a beam over an area of the face, treating a wider area. Electrodessication, however, is a precise, targeted treatment for the smallest of vessels when laser treatments may not be necessary.

What is the easies and most effective treatment?

Treatment via electrosurgry in the hand of experienced physician gives the best result within shorts time. The tiny hair line electrodes touches only the surface of the skin over the blood vessel, after a short pulse of electric current the heat does penetrates down to the body of the vessels. The capillaries collapses and immidiatly disappear. Over time it is absorbed by the body. The surrounding tissue is not affected at all.

What Should I Do After Treatment?

Topical antibacterial cream and /or vitamin E may be applied to the treated area to protect and help it to heal more quickly. While healing you must stay away from direct sun exposure which can cause discoloration at the site of redness. Avoid any irritating topical agent.

Does Electrodessication Hurt?

Most clients report a sensation of mild tingling. No anesthesia is required. Pre-cooling with ice or cooling mashie during procedures or topical numbing cream may be applied 30 minutes before the procedure to reduce any discomfort.

What is the down time with radiosurgery?

Pinpoint scabs at the site of single treatments may occur, which will usually heal a few days after treatment. You can easily cover it with make up.

Is the result Permanent?

yes, however some of the capillaries may not collapse completely with first treatment or you may develop new vessels over time. A touch-ups treatment may be required periodically for any new vessels that may arise.
