How is Microdermabrasion performed?

A cleanser is applied to the skin to remove excess oils for better application and penetration. Who is not a good candidate for microdermabrasion?

  • People with unrealistic expectations. Microdermabrasion does not remove deep scars or wrinkles, birth marks or tattoos.
  • Active, weeping acne (stages 3-4).
  • Active Rosacea.
  • Using accutane.

For the following condition inform us for precaution

  • If you have tendency for hyperpigmention or keloid formation.
  • Using Retin A or just had a chemical peel.
  • recently had laser surgery.
  • If you have history of auto-immune disorder.
  • Recent herpes outbreaks.
  • Undiagnosed lesions.
  • Warts.
  • Unstable diabetes.

Is there maintenance with Microdermabrasion?

Not really maintenance but it is best that you schedule a session every few months for general upkeep. I hardly consider that maintenance, by definition. You will not magically return to your former damaged skin tone condition although occasional sessions can only make it better.
